How do you define your practice?
Posted on: 26/10/2015
Off Grid exhibition private view in South Block, Glasgow.
An exhibition of artists, designers, makers and communicators working on the border of multiple disciplines, questioning the definition of each of their specialisms, and share a graphic thread, running through their work.
Those exhibited have a close tie to, or relationship with graphic design practice, but may not consider themselves graphic designers. In a constantly evolving and changing world, it is becoming progressively more difficult to offer an airtight definition of each creative discipline. Through the placement of these practitioners together in a gallery environment, Off Grid aims to question the definition of contemporary graphic design.
The exhibition includes graphic art, set design, jewellery, product design, audio- visual installation, illustration, ceramics and written word/typography.
As part of the opening Alexa Hare of Yokollection offered tarot reading with a new deck of 78 unique cards designed by Warriors Studio in collaboration with Edinburgh-based artists Yokollection, alongside complimentary drinks from Tennent’s and music from 12th Isle.
